Dr. Cindy Felso

With more than 30 years of teaching experience, Cindy has had the privilege of working with hundreds of students, including home educating her own five. She has taught and tutored a wide range of subjects and worked with students from kindergarten through college, as well as authored articles, curricula, and texts. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in English from Rutgers University, as well as a master’s degree from George Washington University in educational technology and a doctorate from Regent University in Christian educational psychology.

She is grateful for the opportunity to teach Equip 210 students in English courses from eighth grade through high school. A lifelong avid reader and writer, she is passionate about helping students develop their skills in critical thinking, analysis, and self-expression. She sees English coursework as much more than an opportunity to check off needed classes simply as graduation requirements or toward college entry. In today’s world, where media extends beyond literature to include social media posts, YouTube videos, and other highly engineered content, Cindy believes equipping students to critically evaluate all forms of communication through the lens of a Christian worldview is more important than ever. Regardless of a student’s future schooling or career path, an education rooted in the ability to read and write critically is essential for understanding and living out their Kingdom purpose.

Whether working with 8th graders just beginning to delve into complex texts or 12th graders refining their mastery of language, Cindy is committed to creating a learning environment that challenges and inspires. Her goal is to help every student grow not only in their understanding of literature and language, but also in their ability to see its role in the larger story of God’s creation and in their lives as key players in that story.
