This course focuses on growth in vocabulary and reading skills, while developing writing skills across various formats, including narrative, descriptive, expository, and persuasive essays. Students will learn the writing process, focusing on how to structure clear, organized, and coherent arguments. Grammar, mechanics, and style will be continually refined through practice, as students engage in peer reviews, revisions, and written reflections. Additionally, students will be taught how to create strong, evidence-based arguments and write with clarity and purpose.

From a biblical perspective, students will learn to view writing as a tool for expressing truth, justice, and hope. As they develop their writing, they will be encouraged to reflect God’s character by using their words to build others up and communicate with integrity. Writing will be seen not just as an academic skill, but as a means of serving others and glorifying God in every word spoken or written.
